Lazy Sunday morning in Leh

Spending our Sunday morning drinking coffee and taking it easy. Tomorrow morning Harsh, Noel and I ride back down towards Sarchu.

After a rainy day of riding we got to Sarchu and the sun came out for a bit to help us dry off.

We spent some time watching the BRO widening the road just passed Khoksar.

Riding up Rohtang

The ride up to Rohtang was great. A slight drizzle to keep us company for a bit but the weather cleared up as we got to the top.

This year I feel there are many more riders than usual in the mountains.

Manali with the Himalayan Odyssey

After a fine ride over Jalori Pass and crossing over two of the major rivers of Himachal, the Sutlej and the Beas, the Himalayan Odyssey has reached Manali. Caught up with Vir and the rest of the Helmet Stories crew who are riding a day ahead of me to Leh.

Today is a rest day for the Odyssey so after prepping for tomorrow's ride, I'm off fishing!

A Time To Ride

We are up and about and ready to leave. It pissed down all night but its starting to clear off. Rohtang here we come.

Mountain Magic

Today was a quick ride from Parwanoo to Narkhanda on the Himalayan Odyssey. It threatened to rain but it held off till we reached our destination. Tomorrow we hope to cross Jalori Pass and continue to Manali as our original route through Kinnaur and Spiti simply does not exist in many places due to the recent havoc caused by rain and snowfall. I'll connect with Vir tomorrow in Manali where he is leading a Helmet Stories ride to Leh. Meanwhile I'm luxuriating in the marvellous weather, a sea change from the hot and sweltering ride from Delhi.

Bilaspur

Just outside Bilaspur my tyre started wobbling. Stopped to check it out and I think the bearing has gone. Called a mechanic I know he is opening his shop up on Sunday to help.

Tomorrow we ride

And we are back in Chandigarh a few hours away from riding into the mountains to Manali and then Ladakh. See you guys on the road.
